Four Balloons flying out of the Hurt Arms this evening. The launch area was quite crowded! We all drift of towards the North of Mansfield, trying to avoid the town itself and stay in the open country side. Our seventh marriage proposal takes place in the basket this year. Thankfully they have all been accepted! Landing in a stubble field at Pleasley we are met by the farmer and his children, who have seen the balloon approaching and are keen to take a closer look.
Northerly winds this evening take us down towards Nether Heage and on to the world famous Denby Pottery www.denby.co.uk Then out towards Heanor to land at Cherry Tree farm Shipley.
I have Ian Chadwick from the CAA on board tonight to supervise my annual check flight to revalidate my Commercial Pilots License. After an uneventfull (thankfully) flight over Carsington Water, we land at Kniveton. I passed!

Up and over the edge of Beggarswell Wood, on to Shottle, Idridgehay, Biggin, landing in a stubble field at Atlow.
